188 and 167 equals 355!

That's how many tomatoes I just picked off our cherry tomato plants-- and that's not counting the ones the kids and I ate while we picked :) I cannot believe the bounty! These are the same plants we planted in March, watered through the summer, and finally gave up on getting any fruit off them in September! We have two cherry tomato plants and one big tomato plant. Tomatoes are probably one of my all time favorite garden items to grow and eat! I am just feeling really thankful right now for the harvest God has given us off our little plants...imagine how farmers who depended on their crops and gardens for food for the winter must have felt when their plants finally started producing-- that gives a new meaning to "Thanksgiving"!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Ryan! I thought about writing my favorite 34 things about Ryan since it is his 34th birthday, but then thought I woiuld spare you that long list! So, I'll just list 3 or 4 (hahaha) of my favorite things about my husband:

1. he knows how to make me laugh
2. he is a wonderful teacher and is willing to do the science projects I won't dare touch!
3. he loves being outside on a beautiful day
4. he loves growing things; tomatoes, squash, chickens, and children

I am so thankful God has given me such a wonderful husband!

Run II

We had a great run this morning! The kids ran the whole 3.1 miles with Ryan and finished 1st in their age groups! We were all so excited and proud! They got medals and everything. I still can not believe they made the whole thing! Our back-up plan was for me to bring the wagon around to them after I had finished in case anyone needed a ride to the finish but when I got to them they were all still jogging along. They insisted they could finish so, it ended up that we all got to cross the finish line together! :)

As for me personally, I loved it! This was my first 5k ever and my first time to run "competitively" for time in probably 15 years! I got first in my age group too with a time of 32 minutes 58 seconds. God sent me a friend to run with about halfway through the race so we ended up chatting and running together the last half of the race. We really crossed together but I guess my leg touched the finish line first or something! My first photo finish! hahaha :) Anyway, she and I are going to try to run together once in awhile and do another 5k in Feb. for sure together. Neat!

Thanks Aaron for all the encouragement and support! I am so glad I ran it and am officially addicted! Maybe I will run that 1/2 marathon with you someday after all!
